The pase and content of this story has been so well done. I read the latest story and immediately want the next. And this chapter sets the stage for some amazing future chapters to find out what happens with Luxor and Kid Rocket. Seeing them both fall to the Master in their own way is going to be spectacular. Especially with the influence from Onyx and the DS's as they manipulate the situation. Or how the league is inadvertently helping Myriad with his own scheme. Please keep it coming. Also not too sure why, but Havoc is becoming an interesting character. Maybe its his name, or his power. Maybe him being a rubber-wrapped muscle himbo. The same can be said for Onyx. He clearly has a relationship with Myriad. Seeing the extent of that and how it affects other events in the story will be interesting.

adding on what copsboy said earlier, this chapter kind of solidified my thoughts that there's something between DS-005 and DS-013. there's some sort of intimate connection that transcends most other drones. . . well, other than their loyalty to the all-loving and all-knowing Master!

What struck me most on this read was just what a shithead Atlas is turning out to be. He's come a long way from the "good man doing good" that Jamie first met, or thought he met. He's so cold, callous, and ruthless in what he wants to do with Jamie. Though his assessment of Jamie chasing after pleasure may not be too far off. And then there's Ambrosius, so eager to control the heroes the same way Master controls his drones. It really paints a picture of a supposedly "good" organization that at its heart is pretty much as corrupt and evil as any supervillain.

@[copsboy64](/user/show/910425) and what I love about what Neon Demon did is frame this in the context of, well, it's hard to explain but Master's old question of "what is better, the act of doing good or the intent of doing good" really rings true. What will Jamie pick? it's so deliciously written and planned out :flushed: :333

Holy hell, you may have outdone yourself here. The way you described the ink and metal and silicone flowing from one to the other, corrupting not only the body but the mind and even the soul. This is mastery. You should be incredibly proud of yourself here.

I'm...honestly surprised we got a Master Myriad POV. I mean, on the one hand, he's an absolutely *enthralling* character and I've been dying to get into his head since a couple of chapters ago. On the other hand, I feel like it's almost an unwritten rule of drone fiction that Master is unimpeachable, unattainable, incomprehensible -- more than a mere man; a living god. I think you've done a beautiful job of giving him just a few humanizing qualities without losing that deliciously dark edge that makes everyone tremble with, uh...let's say fear. And speaking of fear, I find it interesting that the League's very fear that Myriad is some kind of totally inhuman monster not only serves as justification for their own misdeeds, but also distracts them from what really makes him dangerous -- namely, his subtler schemes such as his infiltration of city hall. An infiltration helped, no doubt, by Myriad's abilities, but one that could conceivably have been carried out by anyone with enough patience, cunning, and natural charisma. It all dovetails so wonderfully with other themes and questions posed by the story thus far. But, I'm sure some of that is just a happy coincidence, right? Nobody could write such fiendishly clever erotica that makes you contemplate the nature of good and evil while you wank! You'd have to be some kind of diabolical mastermind...
