Luxor slash Kane may be right: Jamie and Dusk are very affectionate towards each other, and could become a couple, that is a latex superdrone couple :revolving_hearts:

I see it as a risky situation at the very least that Dwight has no hypnotic triggers to ensure his obedience, no matter how stupid he is. Besides, I highly doubt he'll be able to hide from his boyfriend that he made sex with his boss to get a promotion. And I still don't understand how the protagonist avoided the hypnotic effect of Dwight's chest. Those issues aside, I think the story is excellent, with great descriptions and development. Anxious for more!

@[Sexcrab](/user/show/10027159) Thanks! Y'know, I agree with you! Dwight's continued obedience is going to need some work. And his boyfriend is no idiot - quite the opposite - so perhaps there might be some conflict there in the future, eh? ;) As for the avoiding the effect, the MC wears "protective shades" - sunglasses, though I might play with that element in the future. Cheers!

Well done for finishing the series! I have to admit, this isn't the ending I personally hoped to see, and a bunch of characters I liked are basically doomed. But it was still a very fun ride all the same!

@[d-boi](/user/show/10037283) Thanks! What kind of ending would you have liked to see? I played around with a few different endings. But in all of them the drones win. Even before the Idea for the king of rubber had come to me. In my original ending to the series, Ethan would be assimilated in chapter 9. Chapter 10 would follow a discouraged Derek attempt and fail over and over again to escape. Upon realizing that there was nothing he could do, he would seek out the Drone that was once Ethan and fall to his knees at its feet. But this was very early on.

@[Kyle Cage](/user/show/1756274) That's probably it - the story went on in such a grand way I was probably hopping for an ending where the drones didn't necessarily win... Or at least humanity got a win as well. Coexistence or something. I got invested in a fair few of the characters from earlier in the anthology and seeing them never able to be together again felt sad. I imagine had it been me I'd likely have gone for an ending where more are given the chance to escape the drone collective, maybe some even like it and stay. Even if it were a weird situation of "I cannot deconvert you fully, but I can at least give you your freedom...to a point", not dissimilar from how Todd had basically played around with everyone when he made his big announcement. That scene filled my head with so many ideas on how it might have gone since it became clear that in the very least it was possible to "deconvert" a drone's physical and mental body at least about 99%. But don't let me or my personal feelings discourage you, by any means. It was a good story nevertheless! :D EDIT: Oops, I forgot to log in to reply to this comment... xD

In a parallel, less prudish universe, this would be made into a Twilight Zone episode...

Congratulations on finishing this series! I like the ending, especially knowing that now Derek and Ethan will be together forever. I'm glad to see this two get their happy ending in the end. Thanks for making this, can't wait to see your next series, along with the one-off.

@Anonymous Thank you so much. Ironically my plan for the new series will follow the style i had originally planned for this series. I really like world building and lore, and plan to make most of my stories interconected, and an anthology series is perfect for that.
