So happy to see this chapter! And I am so thrilled in how this chapter preludes to the what is about to happen. Clearly Jamie isn't just wanted, he is needed. It adds so much more depth to his value and how things go from here. So now the big question is, how and when will he be turn?

@[Marik29](/user/show/10021139) I don't know that "turn" is the right word for what will happen with Jamie. This Interlude makes it pretty clear that Master and his drone henchmen will actively try to bring Jamie in, though it also suggests their first choice method remains persuasion. So maybe "be turned" might be the better verb tense here. Then there's the League's intent to try and interfere with Master acquiring Jamie, to try and apprehend him or some of his drones. How will that play out?

@[copsboy64](/user/show/910425) Yeah, I clearly didn't proof read what I wrote. I think this is either going one of two ways. One Jamie switches sides. He gets some more personal time with Dusk, keeps getting worked at the gym, and souring towards the Tribunal more and more. Though Dusk will have his work cut out for him, because Onyx is right to a point. The other is that Jamie is apprehended by the league and we get to see what the Tomb is. Either way, Luxor remains a mole and his conversion is much slower.

Amazing Epilogue!

@[Cutlerfan](/user/show/14171) I’m a fan of the prologue/ epilogue. I’ve been in a debate about this online. Some writers hate them, claim no one reads them. I think it’s a great way to say goodbye to characters. I’m glad you liked it!

brilliant chapter and great chapter… loved the Budd brothers story and the way it was tied up… the senator and his son was fantastic story (and a bit of an open ending)… great that the supporting cast all got what they deep down wanted… now - I just wonder what does De Troy do next!!!

@Anonymous I'm so grateful for this comment for it allows me to explain. I got a little behind through the holiday and missed my "deadline" this week -- I did pretty good, readers got 11 weeks in a row -- but still... As you'll see in the "Epilogue" most of the storylines lack complete resolution -- I'll explain why in the "author's note" at the end -- but suffice to say I didn't know what to do with the Budd Brothers when I came into this story, but I sure as hell know what I'm doing with them next!

I'm just wondering when this 'punishment' will end. What is John's ultimate goal? He could have embarrassed and ruined Chris' and Eric's live quite easily. What is he hoping will happen? Just curious. John does not miss a beat in the humiliation.

@[Cutlerfan](/user/show/14171) It hasn't even been a full 24 hours since John started punishing Chris and not even 6 full hours with Eric. We'll see how far it goes, maybe once the Thompsons realize how screwed they are or how much they screwed others over. To be honest, when the punishment ends so will this story. So if you don't like the punishment then I guess don't read it? Honestly not sure what to make of this comment.

@[Cargo Cub](/user/show/10027653) I'm not offended by the story or the punishments. I'm just curious as to what is going on in John's mind. It gets me thinking about the bigger question of "how do we know when enough punishment has happened?" So again the story is fine it just raises the question I mentioned. It's very intriguing, how the human mind decides things. Perhaps I'm overthinking.

@[Cutlerfan](/user/show/14171) In johns mind he wants to turn their very loves into a prison that will make them act against the homophobia. When he first started with Chris he didn't realize to what extent the two sons had contributed to the actions that he had been told about. It also became clear that the incident with the gym wasn't the first and certainly wouldn't be the last without John stepping in. Right now John is setting the building blocks for that prison and seeing how the Thompson's react and what effects them the most. He could just completely rewrite their personalities but that's not really reforming then. So in johns mind, and my own, he will continue to mess with them until he breaks them or he's sure that they won't break. He's also buying time until the oldest son is back and he can incorporate him in the punishments.
